Anyone can do whatever they want. To be a musician you don’t have to wait to a certain time to do shows. To be good. To be ”professional”. You don’t need a full band. You don’t need booked shows to play. You don’t need ”contacts”. Just go outside with the people you feel a good musical chemistry and play play play. I receive tons of emails of people telling me: ” I’m a bassist but I can’t find a band. I can’t play shows. I don’t know what to practice”. Just pick up your bass and play whatever you feel like. Whatever you love. All the other things will come to you naturaly. I’m a full time IT Enginering student with a part time job and I can manage my time to go out and do as many shows I want. Without any planification! Click HERE if you dont believe me. hehe To practice bass and to upload alot of videos on youtube. You don’t have to drop out school to do that. It has to be all natural.

so the 19-20-21 august, me, Dan our tour bus driver and Gr81 the Mc, we will pack up all my gear and go in a mini tour around the states. Our concept is simple: Stop by anywhere we feel like, plug our instruments and play. Improvise. Solo Bass hip-Hop. It will be so fun!

So if you want to suggest any cool places to play in the states, just comment this blog post with your city in USA and we will try our best to come near that place.

Slash and Flea in the studio yessssssss

My summer is going great so far. I have a school session at university with 4 courses but I still have time to chill outside with friends and to do some cool music. Right now, I’m working on a bass cover of the song Canon D Rock Version. Many Many Many people did it on guitar on youtube like this guy for example, but there is no good BASS cover of it. I’ll have to do it hehe. I have a strange feeling that if I do this video properly, THIS will bring me alot of new people, alot of new video watchers and maybe the contact that will launch my official and only career as a bassist.

I love my life right now. I can blend my 2 passions: Music and Computers without any interaction between them. When I play music, I feel free, I feel out of this world, I always enter my own universe, my own bubble where everything is perfect. But offcourse, it’s just an illusion of the real world. That’s why artists like to paint write create, because they are sick of our boring real world so they invent their imaginary world. I can do this but it is cool to always go back on earth. I do this with my university courses. I like Multimedia and Mathematics. I love Mathematics. It’s the type of things that I don’t force myself doing it, they come to me Naturally. So When I fly into my imaginary world with my bass notes, when the trip is over, I go back on earth to do some calculus and to study computers.

So my creativity and my brain is always fresh. hehe.

I know I didint upload any bass videos but I really want to concentrate on my CANON D cover right now. I promise, It will be cool.

Hey allll,

Last thursday (february 28th) was my university talent competition. I had 10 minutes to do a bass solo. I picked up some of my coolest stuff and played it. I finished the set with a 2 minutes improvisation on Flea’s main bass line on the song ”Don’t Forget Me”.

I won the competition. Yayyyyy. I’m going to the final. That’s cool because many important people, promoters, managers, journalists will be there. So maybe I will have a special chance and finally get signed and tour all over the world to become the sickest bassist alive.

Heyyy allll!!!!!!!

WOW 2 months with NO blogs?!?!?!?! What the hell! Well it was summer and I had a blast. I took all my energy back after a long depressing year in music school. Now its gone. No more music school, no more blasting summer, Serious Engenering School hehehe.

I realised something. My biggest bass playing motivations comes when I have alot of things to do. I spent one year in music school and in summer vacation and at the end, i was lazy with the bass. I was playing everyday but it was only jamming, not serious composing bass songs. Now that school started, in Computer Engenering, I have alot alot alot alot of work to do with school and I have alot alot alot alot of crazy bass ideas. I remembered when I won the competition that brought me to France, I was in school and I had shitload of work to do and I was working part time… so the little amount of time I had left playing bass was crazy. I wrote my first 3 solo bass songs and won the competition.

So that’s just the way I am I guess. It’s really weird but the more work I have, the more bass playing motivation I have. I was thinking last year:” Wow, wouldn’t it be cool if I had ONLY bass in my life? Each second I have I could spent it on finding new Ideas with bass, playing, jamming etc…”

I did this and I fell into a deep depression because it was boring. haha. I need to do other stuff in life.
On one my favorite guitarists is John Frusciante and I was really inspired by him at that part of my life. He dedicate his entire life to guitar playing. He practices 15 hour per days… wow. I just can’t do that.

So this Sunday I’m going to record 4 of my songs in a professional studio. One of my friends studies in a recording school and he can reserve the studio anytime to do any kind of projects… for free…. how cool is that?

So I will post them on my myspace page as soon as I got them. I can’t tell you the 4 songs, I want to keep it as a surprise but I can tell you that it’s 3 compositions and 1 impro/jam song.

The shows section will be updated soon I have alot of school shows in the next 3 months. Plus, I’m going to participate into another huge university talent competition hehehehee.

So my second solo bass album Nascolto Sole is on HOLD for the moment.
