Enjoy the ride

You know, I read this sentence last week but I don’t remember where but it goes something like this : «It’s not the final destination that counts, it’s the full ride ». Some little dude that wants to become a pop singer, all he thinks is the fame, the money, the huge cars and houses, the chicks etc. Some student that wants to become a policeman thinks about his future job, giving tickets, patrol in the city etc. A painter applies in Fine Arts in university because he wants to sell expensive paintings at the end.

It cool to have a goal, or a dream, but I noticed that many many many people think a little bit too much about their final goal and don’t concentrate enough in the full ride, the present. They miss all the fun.

I am not a billionnaire bassist but I absolutely love what I do. I just love experimenting the bass, posting youtube videos, doing collaborations with incredible musicians, update my website, update my twitter, talk to my fans in my facebook fanpage, do some promotions in other cities with my friends, jam with my band, do local shows in montreal. Each of these activities are so much fun to do and I am not focusing on any goal, I just enjoy the process. I am in love with the process. This is the kind of stuff where I have something unique to share with the world and people are listening to my art. Each day I practice, play, learn, share that makes me better everyday of the week.

So people, stop wanting to be a famous pimp rockstar or a billionaire buisiness man, just fully enjoy the process and trust me, life will be good :)

Marco, I am a great friend of Paul Rossy and he can do amazing things with the low word of those who know him well. Though he is a very busy person, he has a second love, his instrument. I spoke with him for a while and he told me that things were going well. Great idea to record your bass lines together you need dedication and love. Sorry to lecture, but are people like you that almost nobody pays attention. I will be strength of the first hearing your music. Rui drummer.
