inspiration

So I was playing bass yesterday night around 1 am and I was composing for my solo bass duet project with Paulo Rossy. I was trying to come up with a perfect bass line on one of a song he wrote. And man, I never found the key on how to do it. How to “Force” our creativity to pop out. How do all the artists do it? I guess it’s always a magical moment that happens here and then. I couldn’t find a bass line wich I was 150% satisfied. So I kept playing and playing. Grooving, bass soloing, find cool melodies. But non of them was perfect for me. So after 1 hour of playing I went to bed. When I woke up BOOM. Intense bass creativity came in me. I ran to my bass, hit record on my laptop and let my soul express itself with the bass. And I found the perfect bass line. This creativity was so intense that I wrote another full song in 10 minutes. But how do we get those moments? I know they arrive randomly but man. That is a reason I’m not a full time musician. I’m scared of that. I’m scared of always having to “force” my creativity. Work with the music. Write music to have money to pay my stuff. It’s too much stress. Sure, you may have a lot of props at the end but still. I guess some people love working with music.

Anyways. Our 10 song solo bass duet EP is coming soon! :-)

I'm glad you had a great desire to share bass lines with a single purpose. They make a good match. Good work.
