Tommy Emmanuel
2 weeks ago I went to chill in Toronto. I bought like 200$ of music stuff. Cd’s, books, Dvd’s, t-shirts. But I will talk to you about this DVD: Tommy Emmanuel: Live at Her Majesty’s Theatre Ballarat
It’s really really really good. I’m trying to find the right words to describe his talent but it’s hard. He’s the type of musician who can easily spend 10 hours per day practising without stopping, he did this when he was young until now, and now he’s 53 years old… so his level of virtuosity is completly insane. It’s like Victor Wooten but with 998765 hours of more practicing. In the dvd, he plays a complete solo set show in a beautiful theatre. There is a guest girl who will sing in 3 songs. He does everything in that show. Tommy sings, hit his guitar, plays tam tam on his guitar, slap his guitar, scratches it, its insane. He’s so nuts on the guitar that most of his guitars are all broken like this:
I’m really mad, he is coming to montreal in May but all the tickets are sold. They sold out in like 2 days… who the hell knows tommy emmanuel here in montreal????
I really admire Tommy Emmanuel for the fact that he keeps his passion still alive and intensively after all these years, its really hard. I guess these are the purest musicians who are really born with this sort of magical talent.
ps. I just noticed that everytime I talk about a new thing I bought, my reviews really SUCKS. haha
